And guess what? She's 17 years old and she's thinking politics already! She defeated 52 other young women across the United States and won herself a $50,000 scholarship with a year-long of wearing the Miss America 2011 title.
First runner-up is Miss Arkansas Alyse Eady, who won $25,000 and third place was Miss Hawaii Jalee Fuselier who won $20,000.
Pageant Biography
Scanlan is a recent high school graduate from western Nebraska town of Gering and plans to study the American politics at Patrick Henry College in Virginia after Miss America. She also hopes to attend law school, become a judge and eventually a politician. Wow. Sounds like she plans everything already!
